23 and full-time mechanical engineer here. The great thing about the field is there are so many applications that you're bound to find something that you'd enjoy. My best advice-in-a-nutshell is to study hard and do your best to start building networks as early as you can. Also, learn every kind of CAD software you can, both 2D and 3D.

Thanks. I'm 26 now, so I'll be 30 when I graduate. Should be interesting.
