Default Polished my headers

just picked up my Street Triple R 2nd hand yesterday, has a full Arrow exhaust but headers were looking pretty shit so i polished them up.

used wet'n'dry sandpaper with water first, 240, then 360, then 800, then finally 1500 & finished off with a clean rag & some Autosol metal polish, turned out a nice polished silver then after starting up the heat cycle caused them to go a gold colour, took afew hours & afew beers, much better then what i started with though i reckon

START

AFTER 320 WET'N'DRY

AFTER METAL POLISH

AFTER STARTING BIKE

Perhaps a high heat ceramic clear coat might protect that sexiness?

That looks pretty awesome, might have to consider this instead of black wrap

yep its quick (under 2 hours), cheap & easy, no need to remove headers , buy some wet'n'dry for under $10, metal polish $10 if you dont already have some, & then of course some beers

did it on my buell 1125CR too & it came up even better but the position of the triples pipes means some stone damage happens but still comes up heaps better than the rusty crap they were before
