So I'm finally making the plunge! I found a black 2008 Daytona 675 with 11,000 miles for $6600. Is this a good price?
It looks like this: http://images.motorcycle-usa.com/Pho...a_675_SE_2.jpg Also, I'm DESPERATELY searching for another bike like this closer to home...as in...less than TEN HOURS round trip away. I've checked Craigslist, this forum, ebay, cycle trader and I keep googling for the bike I want to see if anything comes up. Result? SLIM pickings and some BEAUTIFUL bikes as FAR away from me as possible, like California and Vermont. Locally? Nothing but red and grey or new bikes. The price of this 2008 is about near the limits of what I want to pay(so no 2009 or newer). Should I look anywhere else or just make sure to buy a lot of gas, snacks and water for a LONG trip tomorrow? :( |

Unless they are asking retail for a bike that was run over by a dump truck, I wouldn't worry a whole ton about price.
If its the one that you have to have, you can't put a price on that. Especially if they don't pop up for sale all that often. And you sound like you're really wanting it, just get it, of course try and haggle him, but don't haggle yourself out of a sale. Good luck man

For pricing, I got mine for a steal 9 (I think)
2007 - 1,850 miles - $5400 I personally think $6600 is wayyyy too steep, but as louie3 said, you cannot put a price on something you really want that doesn't pop up too often... good luck. |

Agreed that it's way too steep.
Got my 2009 when it was 6 months old for $6000. Granted it was the deal of the century, but over $6000 for the bike you posted is way too much.

How much you think they paid for the bike? Black 2008 with 11,000 miles in great condition. |

hard to say how much they paid... dealer or private seller, they could have bought it at MSRP.
Reality is that something used is far lesser in value. free suspension setup? What kinda bogus is that? They throwing in a couple OHLINS shocks? I would not pay more than $5200 for it :) |

I really like that black with gold wheels. I actually found a black one closer, but not with gold wheels and I thought to myself..."You KNOW you want that other bike....what are you thinking about settling??". Not like I'm dumping $12k on a new bike. Damn that is gonna be a LONG drive!! 5 hours knowing you gonna get this legendary bike? Can you all say...."RE WE THERE YET ARE WE THERE YET!!!" :)

Does it have all service records etc? Ownership knowledge? I paid a bit off blue book for mine, but it had some pricey bells (full zard system) and whistles and full "papers". So in my mind it was worth it. Love the bike!
