2009-11 Motor in 2006 ?

Yes .... I've searched and read all of the threads I could find on the topic

Seems like in the threads I found, there are a few people who say that in order to do the swap, "you will need the wiring harness+ecu, the exhaust headers and airbox as well".

... I know the headers are different. Some people say that all you need to do is drop the 09-11 tune into your '06 ECU .... are any of the sensor plugs any different on the '09 motor ? Why would you need to replace the Harness ? and why would the airbox need to be replaced if the TBs are the same ?

Has anyone actually done the swap ... and if so, is the above statement true ?
(wiring harness, ecu, headers, and airbox from 09 are all required for the swap)

I've done it...

You need the engine, ecu, harness, header and cluster.

Without the cluster my 2011 wouldn't start. It would crank, but that is all. It kept throwing a code for ecu id not recognized....

You may need the updated air box lid/iat sensor also as the new gen has a differing plug, as does the ignition.

Mine is a race bike, therefore I no longer run a key...
