Yes .... I've searched and read all of the threads I could find on the topic
Seems like in the threads I found, there are a few people who say that in order to do the swap, "you will need the wiring harness+ecu, the exhaust headers and airbox as well". ... I know the headers are different. Some people say that all you need to do is drop the 09-11 tune into your '06 ECU .... are any of the sensor plugs any different on the '09 motor ? Why would you need to replace the Harness ? and why would the airbox need to be replaced if the TBs are the same ? Has anyone actually done the swap ... and if so, is the above statement true ? (wiring harness, ecu, headers, and airbox from 09 are all required for the swap)

This guy installed an 011 engine into an 06 frame - Bike is for sale on Kijiji
Ad ID 427676557. (Kijij Ontario) I spoke to him a while back and he seemed very knowledgeable. An ex racer. You may want to look him up - His number is in the ad. |

I've done it...
You need the engine, ecu, harness, header and cluster. Without the cluster my 2011 wouldn't start. It would crank, but that is all. It kept throwing a code for ecu id not recognized....

You may need the updated air box lid/iat sensor also as the new gen has a differing plug, as does the ignition.
Mine is a race bike, therefore I no longer run a key...
