Got my R/R recall letter and have been reading some or the R/R threads that are recall related.
Seems some are getting replaced w/ old OE or upgraded O/E SCR type R/R's that are still failure prone. Supposedly the replacement should be a Mosfet type R/R (connectors plugging into it) vs the old style (failure prone) SCR types (wires come out of R/R). Anyone been to Fredericktown Yam-Tri to have their R/R replaced under the recall? If yes, post up what you got. A new mosfet type or older SCR type. Pictures are good if you can. You might see this thread... R/R RecallThread New Style: Mosfet - where connectors plug into R/R (pic borrowed from "Neandrathal") Old Style SCR Type: wires come out of R/R (pics borrowed from "R")

I had mine done at Clinton Cycles about three weeks before the recall was issued. I can take some photos and post them in a bit. Cost around $300. I'm working on a letter to Triumph voicing my displeasure at their timing.

Mine is sitting at Chesapeake Cycles waiting to be replaced. Died a sad, terrible death a couple weeks ago and I only got it to them just before Sandy f'd up everything in the world.

Was your replacement part of the recall? What kind of R/R did they install? OE SCR type or mosfet. See the pics in my post #1. Thanks!

Yes, it was part of the recall. Called them up, gave them my VIN. They scheduled me 2 weeks later. They installed the new MOSFET type. |

I had mine replaced at Clinton Cycles when they were still a Triumph dealership. I still take both my Speed Triple and Daytona 675 there. Great service. Great mechanics.
