haha thanks for the replies guys, posted up a welcome in the main intro part of forum but didnt get 1 reply lol !
i am going to miss the R1 crossplane engine no doubt but its to much for the local twistys i ride, ( still 160 kph wheelies in 1st are fun !!!) took it for a trackday at Queensland Raceway where it really shines but still a tad overweight for the power, light street triple R will be more fun for sure !! before the R1 i was on a buell 1125CR with high bars & before that a buell XB12s so i became used to the upright position & loved it, ( all jap bikes before these 2) i only got the R1 to remove fairings & turn into a naked, well it handled great as it was so i though "wow clip ons are for me" , anyway after about 6 months wanted to get back on a naked & always loved the triumphs so here we go, sold the R1 now driving from the gold coast down to newcastle in the morning, hotel for the night then test ride / buy street triple friday morn then drive home, good times !!! only 800 kays each way & taking mrs with me, she will be driving back while i get on the bike & have some fun :) ill put up a post with all mods on bike + what i have planned once i get home, thanks again for the interest guys hopefully be active on here & learn about the 675 world cheers chinski |

Meh, I travel further than that every time I do a track day, and on a much crappier road than the all new and improved Pacific HWY that I assume you will be taking. No biggie!
![]() Given your situation, I would spend an extra night away and spend it around the Port Macquarie area. While you are down that way it would be a real shame, not to do the Oxley up to Walcha and back on that new bike. Unless things have changed in the last few years since last there, the Oxley is Motorcycling Nirvana, well at least here in Aus anyway! Last edited by sirhosis of deliver; 11-14-12 at 08:41. |

The local forum I admin has groups going to do the Oxley 3 or 4 times a year. 3-day trip and they have an absolute blast every single time. One day I'll make the time to go on one.
