Default R/R madness

Hey guys, whats up? This is going to be a quick rant about the R/R. Im from michigan and the riding season ended two weeks ago.
Except for today, where it decides to spring from the 30s into the high 60s. Im on my way to my buddies house so we can ride unified together and the fuel light comes on. At this moment im puzzled because i had just filled the bike up last night. I say whatever and ride to the next stop sign where the bike then just shuts off out of nowhere.
I do the basic checks, was I a moron and somehow hit the kill switch? Nope. Was there battery power? Yup. Did he fuel pump prime? Yup. Did it crank over? Noooooo. Am i right to think its the R/R guys?

Im so pissed the bike decided to shit out on me on the one and only day it was too good to be true :banghead:

When I had issues with my R/R, the gas light would come on mysteriously. I would suspect your R/R also. Make sure you do all the checks with the stator and battery as well. Reference the thread about updating your R/R to the better MOSFET units.

If it is the R/R, there is a recall for '06-'09 bikes
it will be replaced free of charge with a better unit.

Those are the EXACT symptoms I had when my R/R went. Only, mine went before the recall. Bought/installed a Rick's R/R, charged the battery and was back to new.

Good to know. I will be picking up the bike to drop it off for my triumph dealer to honor it tomorrow. The worst part about this situation is having to push the bike to a friends house over a mile away. What a workout and not the ride I wanted to go on lol

Update time! Recall has been verified and comfirmed for my VIN and I will drop the bike off in a few business days when the parts arrive.
As the tech at my dealer was also the previous owner of my bike, he was surprised to hear this because he claims it was already replaced when he owned the bike He is so nice that he is also going to replace the battery as well!

Im really excited about all this but if what he says is true, two r/r's back to back within a few thousand miles?!?!?!:banghead:
