So I'll start off my saying I bought this bike used a month ago, it's got 6k miles. It's my first triumph. After testing rising it I had to buy it. But after 500 miles riding I've noticed some sounds, what sounds to me like valve clicking, (I'm sure it's it that but it's what it sounds like). I'm a car guy, never really worked on a motorcycle before except regular stuff. I bet I could find something similar already on this forum but I figured this might be faster. That sound is coming from the right upper side, right below the tank. I'll post a video later when I can get on my computer.

Or it could possibly be nothing and I'm just imaging things. But anyways, any knowledge on this will help.

use the search function, there a severeal threads that cover this in different environments and so on. I can tell you that my 11 675R has a low level ticking sound on idle, think someone on here said it was fuel injectors or somthing to that effect. It would help to have some audio.

Could be the cam chain rubbing something before it adjusts itself. I had that, the tick developed into a whine and went away over 3 days. Is it rpm dependent?

Yeah, it does it at idle and up to 5k, can't hear it after that.

My best guess is the cam chain due to the lower temperatures, my bike is starting to make a more pronounced ticking noise until engine is substantially warmed up.

yeah being an 09 it could be pre the new CCT that the latest gens have, that would be my first guess into what the noise is.
