Jesus. If any of you actually think that the country is going to shit the bed, it just proves you are dumber than I thought. Bush did far more to fuck the country up than big O will. And I'm not even a democrat.

The fact is, there is no way to get rid of the deficit without increasing taxes AND cutting spending. Healthcare is all sorts of fucked up and is in desperate need of change.

If anyone is so biased left or right that you are unwilling to compromise or the politicians you support are solely out to stop the other party, you are what is wrong with this country.

Of course were not to the point of being compared to places like that. Americans wouldnt accept an over night change to socialism. They're doing it to us slowly. Were gonna wake up in 20 yrs and wonder what the hell happened?

He nationalized health care. GM and Chrystler are all but nationalized. Redistribution of wealth in the name of "the greater good" and "fairness". The class warfare tacticts. The endless spending growing the welfare state and pushing social programs that promote dependency on the government instead of incentive to succeed on your own. Demonising successful people. He not a socialist like Lennon or Mao. Hes more comparable with European socialism. Nothing against Europeans but i want to live in europe id move there.

The Nationalized health care which has been passed in the US is not a form of Socialization. If making people buy insurance is Socialism then how are we required to buy car insurance or home insurance and why are we not a socialist state now?

GM and Chrysler were "nationalized" by TARP which was passed before Obama took office. I would be more concerned about the financial institutions being bailed out by the government. Which was also done before Obama took office. I do not see how these things have anything to do with Obama and socialism together. By these facts alone, we were headed to a socialist nation before Obama even took office. Are you suggesting some sort of bi-partisan Socialist conspiracy?

I will assume you are talking about unemployment and welfare. Let me start by saying capitalism is great, when the economy is good. When the economy is not good, such as now, and jobs are scarce, what are we supposed to do with people that can not find jobs? Let them starve in the street?

Yes, there are always going to be people that take advantage of any system. People always say something about people leeching off the system, I have yet to see any hard numbers on how many there actually are. I don't think it is a stretch to assume the majority of people on unemployment/welfare are legit and are looking/want work but can't find it or need welfare. These systems are in place to help everyone, the unemployed by helping them through a tough time and the employed by not having to worry about roving bands of unemployed taking what they need to survive (A little hyperbole). When the economy turns around and jobs are not so hard to find people will go back to work. We will then have "less socialism". When capitalism hiccups, "socialism" gets us through the tough times.

I suppose it really comes down to a question of greed. Are you really so greedy you don't want to see a small portion of your taxes, which you will be paying regardless of how it is spent, go to help someone in need?

I really have no idea what you mean by "Demonizing successful people."

The government is not going to start taking your pay check, giving you a small portion and splitting the rest up among your neighbors. They are not going to come for you house in the middle of the night and tell you where to live and let someone else take your home.

Don't think I am trying to defend Obama, no matter who is in Office, things are pretty much going to be the same. I just see people waving the "socialist" flag and I smell bullshit. Everyone I have talked to about it can't give me a straight answer.
