Went out today to clean my bike to notice the stock Pirellis had exposed threads . Never have I had a tire do that so sudden since i haven't really ridden this thing hard to most's standards . I went to my local dealer to check their tire specials and left with a pair of Dunlop Q2s due to some pretty good reviews . Anyone here running them ? Personal opinions ?

No, no one is running them, they are just cheap, perform well, and are round. To me that sounds like a horrible POS tire.

Q2's are really good tires...I am on my second set and they are absolutely amazing.

I think that the Dunlop Sportmax Q2 tyres are the best road tyres I have ever used.
The *only* failing is that they don't last long if you ride pretty hard. Nevertheless, they are incredibly good for back road twisties... S.

Best tire I have run to date. However, they don't last long. My rear is just about dead at 900-1000mi. Other riders who ride a decent pace report similar mileage.

tooblekain's review is spot on. I ride 70 miles daily and my rear tire has exactly 4522 miles on it with minimal flat spot on the center tire. Rides well in the rain and snow on my way up angeles crest. I did track days on them and performed well over my abilities.
Martin only got about 1000 miles on them? but i bet those a hard canyon miles I bet? ![]() you also get more lean angle/ bigger foot print on these tires compared to let say the old qualifier which my bike had in 09. ever since then Ive had the Q2'S . Never could get to the edge of the tire on the Q2'S even on canyon carving rides but was only was able to when I went to the track. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/545/38...ct-Review.aspx Last edited by lola; 11-10-12 at 17:08. |

Jus' slipped-on a set last week. No surprises, very good tires - grip, steering, all good.
I previously also ran them on my Daytona, all good. Semi no brainer.
