Relocating r/r without cutting the wiring harness

Hey I'm gonna be leaving in a few days and don't have time to cut the wiring harness. I got a set of sharkskinz and I wanna relocate it. I've seen people relocating it under the battery tray but I'm pushed for time. Anyone relocate it without cutting the warness? I was thinking under the air box or something. I got a 2011 675r so the r/r is off the side

I bolted mine to the headlight bracket. It fit with my race glass using the R/R's bolt hole which is on the angled part of the mounting bracket. Super-simple to do, you just need a bolt and nut.

Whatever you decide on, just make sure it's got a bit of air circulation so you don't cook your R/R. I know some guys mount it on the bottom of the nose because they figure that they'll get good air flow there.

Relocating it doesn't actually require cutting the battery harness. You wire the power connections directly to the battery and then plug the stator connection in to the plug at the stator.

An R/R has five wires that go into it. The set of two is the + and - for the power, those go to the battery. The other three get wired to your stator, the order is unimportant.

Trace the wire coming from the stator and you'll find it goes to a plug under the tank. Unplug it and wire the R/R to the stator. It requires you either get the same kind of plug or another three pronged plug and cut the plug off of the stator though. One option would be to cut the stock plug off of the original R/R if you have an old one, although I would HIGHLY recommend against doing this due to heat that could be generated by a bad connection.

Instead of cutting any wires why not buy the relevant male and female connectors, make a sub loom so that you can place the R/R wherever you want it. Then when you put the road fairings back on you can put it back in its original location?

But as previously stated, make sure you put it somewhere it can get some air flowing over it.

I just zip tied mine to the bottom of the intake. Simple and easy. Ill post pics when I get home this morning.
