Yup. My aluminum roadbike with carbon forks, rearstays, and seatpost is 17 pounds, and that's with a full gearset and brakes. Why is this bike so heavy? I've seen steel-tube fixies that weigh in around the same as this.

Pretty much, $5,000 for a 17 lb fixie is absolute garbage. Not to surprising for Rizoma though.

Haha the extra cogs and derailleurs are the heavy bits too. I believe it's because a lot of stuff, most notably the cranks are machined from billet and look a little bulky too. It is what it is, but they should tell their dumb marketing people not to talk about 17 pounds like it's a big deal when it hasn't been for years...

God those guys have talent. It is a bit heavy, and missed the fixi trend by a few months (read almost a year), but holy shit they sure know how to make beauty.

I have to say I dont like it. Whats with that seat and the frame. All it needs is a really big wheel in front and a tiny wheel out back and it could be one of those old timey bikes.
