Clutch switch jump for track bikes.

This has been discussed a few times, but I was unable to find the information I'm about to lay on you, so I'm going to toss it in it's own thread for posterity.

When you remove the left signal controller housing most people like myself just jumped the clutch switch. It worked fine, but that is because I was not using a quick shifter. I have my shifter set to "GP shift" and the stock QS wouldn't work like that. Thusly, I didn't notice a thing.

Well, last night I installed my new Push QS, and it didn't work. After a bit of fiddling I realized the QS would work with the jump removed and the housing re-attached. What was happing was, the ECU thought my clutch was pulled in, and was bypassing the QS.

The fix:

I removed the two wires (black & Black/yellow) for the clutch switch from the plug. Then I separated the clutch switch from the wire bundle so I could discard the left switch housing I was trying to get rid of. I put heat-shrink around the two remaining wires. Then I plugged them back into the Black, and Black/Orange wire on the plug from the harness.

The whole thing took only 20 min, and works perfectly.

Your ecm reads 15 codes off the clutch switch (09 and newer). You may have running issues.

I did the opposite, I removed all the wires from the switch connector EXCEPT the clutch switch wires. This way I can just un plug the connector when needed, but the extra bulk of the switchgear is gone.

Same thing really, but I figured leaving the housing plug intact would lend itself more sale able in the future is all.
