I went down yesterday on highway 94 close to the Tecate border crossing, if you know the area its what they call "the playground" where all the photo guys are at. I was riding originally with 3 other guys. Two of which decided to continue riding towards mt laguna. and my buddy and I had to be home. Ive ridden this turn over 100 times, I dont remember much but I went into it feeling good, and from what people say my peg started dragging and caused me to low slide.
I would estimate I was going between 60-70 mph. I dont remember actually hitting the ground, it was as if I "woke up" and was sliding on my back headed straight for the side of the road which was a wall of rock and dirt. I just remember thinking is this really happening? It felt like a dream or video game. I said to my self im going really fast I hope I dont slam into these rocks to hard. Next thing i know im standing up and walking around. Everyone was telling me to sit down and take it easy, asking if I was ok and all that. The photo guy didnt get any pictures of it because he had already turned to take pics of the rider behind me. But he said he saw a cloud of dust, my bike, and my front wheel rolling down the street and thought I was dead. A huge group of 20+ bikes came immediately and were directing traffic, moving my bike out of the street ect. A truck drove by that happened to have a broom so they swept the street. Everyone was extremely surprised I was not hurt, I dont have a single scratch on me or any pain. All thanks to the gear. Alpinestars GP-R jacket Alpinestars Track pants Alpinestars SP-2 gloves Sidi ST air boots Shoei Qwest helmet ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I forgot to get pictures of the gloves but they were not damaged |

I loved the bike but it doesnt look like ill be riding for awhile It was 100% my fault and errors, to much lean on the street just to get a good picture Be safe and wear your gear guys! |

Your okay, and in the grand scheme of things that's what is important.
On a lighter note some of the pictures posted are very good. |

Thanks for sharing as your first and second post. Hopefully you get another one and stick around here. Oh, and welcome to the forum
Things I learned from your post: 1)Excessive lean angle on the street can be dangerous 2) Street Triples will fit in a Fourrunner. Glad you are OK.

glad to hear your ok!
"Be safe and wear your gear guys! " you could not have said that better people dont realized how benificial quality gear is.......or wearing gear at all times, and you are now a living testimate to it. if you had cheap stuff on you would look and feel like you went through cheese grader. either spend the extra zero on the gear, or add two more zeros for when you recieve your hospital bills to fix your injuries. see what you can buy the bike back for, you may get a steal on it. best of luck to you.

Gear is much cheaper than medical bills.I've seen the road slide past my eyeball at 1 1/2 inches away for 50 feet. Very memorable.
