All Righty!!!

It's getting to be late March, and somebody can get this bike and enjoy the whee out of it as the weather gets good. I got out on it for a little less than an hour recently, and OMG I remember why I love this bike.

The bike has one "issue." One person had pretty much said that they'd take it. I set about removing the Elka shock. I had the rear on the stand, but neglected to lift the front. I unweighted the rear wheel a little too much, and it eased forward and tipped onto the right side. The cases are fine. There's a scuff on the right side Throttlemeister, and a scratch on the swingarm. The TM can be cleaned up almost with black marker. The swingarm may buff out, or it may take some grey touch up paint. The worst is that there is what looks like a scratch just above the right turn signal. If I remember right, it's a little over an inch long. Problem is, it's not a scratch, it's a hairline crack in the fairing lower. I'm sure that this can be repaired from the back either with a soldering iron/plastic welder or epoxy, then fill the paint defect with touchup paint. I just about puked when this happened, because up to that point the bike had no cosmetic flaws. If you're interested in the bike, PM me, and I can email you pics of the damage.

If I ride it much more, I don't know if I can sell!!!

Damn, I was interested 'till I saw you removed the shock...and that it's been down. Good luck selling it!

I feel ya. But understand, this was a zero MPH thing. I was sitting behind the bike on the ground and just didn't have the leverage to stop it. I just measured the crack, and it's 2.75", if I press on the back. Otherwise, it looks like a scratch. The edges are smooth, and perfectly matched, and I'm sure that any repair would be virtually invisible.

As to the shock, it's in the box, and can go back on the bike in short order. (I'll put it on both stands this time

)
