Everyone is going to have their own slightly different riding posture that works for them. But by and large its definitely grip with your legs.
Coming off of two spinal fractures i can honestly say im just now getting to where i can ride for more than an hour without having to stop and rest my back. The more you ride the better your body will get at it. As in most things, respect for the bike, some common sense, and a healthy dose of experience will solve most problems.

Try a bit of exercise, situps & pushups go a long way to help to build up your core strength. I had similar issues when I first got my R & as I only ride weekends started doing situps & pushups to compensate for lack of riding time.
Now up to 70 situps followed by 30 pushups 4 times a week (I'm 50 yo)
