Never never never take the first offer they give you! If you're bullheaded they will yield, especially if you're their customer rather than a victim of their customer.

FWIW the first offer I got from the insurance company for my totaled '06 Daytona w/ 14.5k miles (totaled just one month ago) was $1k higher than what Progressive is offering you, and I worked them up another $1k by showing them classified ads. Different insurance company, but same concept. My bike only had a few more mods than yours does, and a lot more miles

^^^ this! When I was hit last year I got $4500 for my SV650S and I paid $3800 I also got another $1000 for Mods and protective gear so in the end I actually got more back than I paid so don't settle right away. Surprisingly I really didn't have to twist their arm to get the price up. I have to say though Progressive was fantastic when they worked with me.

Sorry to hear about the bike and Good luck with the search I hope the D-bag is found along with the bike.

That's crap man. You get boned first by the low-life POS dousche who stole it, then whilst bent over in sadness, your insurance company dry humps the last bit of manhood outta you.
