Looking for a front brake caliper(s) for my 09 675. Really only need one side but would buy in pair or even all three if the price was right.
This is for my street bike so it's parked until I find something so please help a brother out.
$10 Bird Dog Fee paid to whoever turns me on to one, IF I buy it.
Thanks guys (& gals)!
Do they bolt right on or require modification?
I am hearing conflicting things and I'm not a modification kind a guy. I'm lucky to put air in my tires by myself. Ok that's a stretch but not by much.
If you can put on new 675 calipers, you can put on R6 calipers. R6's have slightly larger discs so it's a good idea to use spacers, but that doesn't make them any more difficult to put on.
I don't think anyone makes "official" spacers, but you only need to get them about 1mm further out. A washer or two would be good enough, just as long as the disc doesn't rub on the caliper body.
So just some washers and I'd be good to go then, huh?
Do they need to be a certain material (ie aluminum, brass, etc)?
I assume I can use my existing brake lines and hardware?
I read Zoran at TWF Racing actually makes spacers for this swap. That's the way to go, washers are a little janky.
Yes, you can use your stock master and the brake lines should be plenty long enough. It's also perfectly safe to reuse all the hardware if it fits, just get new copper washers for the banjo bolts.
Found some since I posted at a Yamaha dealership. $2.65 each. They must be really fond of them. Oh we'll, I need em. Five if memory serves me right.
