Nope, just figured the people would read into a failing administration more and vote for the alternative. I just dont agree with his handling of anything, and I think I have a unique perspective on this having served in the military with him as president and now being a middle class civilian.

I honestly didn't see this coming either. I should have known better though, our country just cares about what it can get at the moment than the long term effects. For the first time I am just disappointed in my country and have almost no doubt in my mind, this country will never the the power it was.

If things go the way I think it will, such as increased taxes, costs to insure employees and fuel costs. I will be downsizing my company in the next 2 years to just stay in business. Time will tell but the writing is on the wall.

You're definitely not alone, a lot of small businesses are feeling the heat from these crappy liberal economic policies. You guys are really the gauge as to whether things are working, and with unemployment STILL around 8% after four years, and the slowest economic recovery since the 1960's, that should scream alarm bells for everyone. Let me say it again: SLOWEST ECONOMIC RECOVERY SINCE THE 1960's! That means not only past republican, but even democratic presidents had faster growing economies in four years. If policies are correct, they don't take four years + to work, they can't blame Bush anymore (who btw had unemployment dropping over most of his presidency, despite his slightly more liberal economic policies).

I say good luck to you man, I hope you can press through the next four years without too much damage and survive for whenever a recovery actually comes.

Also, you'd think with all the things democrats are making into entitlements for people, they'd at least include free cake! Ain't nothin' wrong with cake....

i cant see anything good coming out of the next 4 years, i really dont like MY hard EARNED money being taken from me and given to the slobs that dont want to work, and just live off the system, like their entitled to it! Dont get me wrong, i do believe there are some people who truely deserve help, but then there are others that are leeches.Free phones for everyone i say!

I hope everything works out but I am just so uncertain right now and as a business owner its the worst place to be. This is actually an up year for us, no thanks to the economy. 3 years before that were different. We have drastically changed the way we do business.
Its not the struggling companies that will be effected, it is all of us. In 2013 our insurance costs will triple. To make up for that cost we will have to let someone go or not offer insurance.

Also unemployment is way beyond 8%, that doesn't include people who have stopped looking for work. I know many people that have been actively searching for a "real" (a job they are qualified for) job for 2-3 years. These are not people that sit on their butt. After last night they are about to give up the hunt.

I could see myself eventually just working on motorcycles as my full time job, instead of being a hobby job. Cash only business. No employees.

My wife and I will be just fine, I'm not to concerned about us. Its everyone else that we support. We can make money doing anything, whether or not we can employ others is a different question.

I love how people think one person in a government system as our can change anything. Fucking idiots.

Both of them would do no good to this country and this country is going to fail anyways with the amount of stupid shit people worry about, then allowing our government to give themselves raises, get paid by lobbyist, and then worry about shit like gay marriage instead of the education system, or laws that actually matter.

I honestly don't care, I don't vote (AHHH I KNOW!!!) mainly because I do not find one person in power worth my vote, many people forget that our government works for US and not the other way around. So then they get thrown a bunch of stupid bullshit that has nothing of real value like religion, etc.. and they worry about that instead of this country actually working on bettering ourselves and focusing on fixing our weak points like our education system, roads/highways, economy, and just the well being of our citizens.

But you get these stupid fucks throwing stuff like oh he went to this church instead of this church or something of that matter, or the best part like these idiots throwing socialism around like they even have a clue of how that system works without having to wikipedia it. I fail to see how our country is becoming a socialized government from having people buy into healthcare, while I think the initial idea Obama has put out there needs a lot of work I see nothing wrong with having people have healthcare coverage. I rather pay into that knowing a child can go get help then save a few dollars.

And if this country is socialist, then most states must already be a form of socialized government considering many states make you buy into several things.

But anyways I rather come there for the women haha the accents are mmmmmmmmmmm

I agree with TWW.

One man can't be responsible for the countries demise. Our elected leaders in historis past have slowly driven the country to the edge of a cliff, but its humanity itself that will be the ones responsible for driving it over the cliff.
Polarizing parties on both sides makes us all stupider.

I respect everyone's views. As a fiscal conservative, I completely understand and truly appreciate where a lot of you guys are coming from. Hell, when I lived in Canada, I voted Conservative. But as a social liberal, I am very happy that America didn't take a step back toward the dark ages.

I know that I'm not American so it doesn't affect me like it does you guys, but the USA's actions still have implications for the rest of the planet. Love it or hate it, America's influence is felt everywhere.

In any case, I do hope for the best for you guys.

Having recently spent a fair bit of time in the People's "Democratic" Republic of Laos, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and the United States of America, I'd just like to say... don't worry America, you've got a little ways to go yet before you can rationally be considered a Socialist state.

#25 ·
Of course were not to the point of being compared to places like that. Americans wouldnt accept an over night change to socialism. They're doing it to us slowly. Were gonna wake up in 20 yrs and wonder what the hell happened?

Jesus. If any of you actually think that the country is going to shit the bed, it just proves you are dumber than I thought. Bush did far more to fuck the country up than big O will. And I'm not even a democrat.

The fact is, there is no way to get rid of the deficit without increasing taxes AND cutting spending. Healthcare is all sorts of fucked up and is in desperate need of change.

If anyone is so biased left or right that you are unwilling to compromise or the politicians you support are solely out to stop the other party, you are what is wrong with this country.

I find it funny that people want to wax nostalgic about the past and how much "better" things used to be. Maybe if you were White, Male, and Christian. The reality is that the demographics of the USA are changing. Whatever party wants to have political power in the future is going to need to understand that.

All these words you guys are using make me cringe...government, socialist, democrat, tax, vote, wtf is the matter with you?

Half the reason I bought a bike and joined this forum is so that I can temporarily escape all this madness that mankind CHOOSES to put itself through.

Don't you see it doesn't matter, everything is backwards, we now live in a world where to pick an apple off a tree gets a slap on the hand, where it is illegal to catch wild salmon, but not illegal to farm salmon, illegal to catch a wild turkey without paying for tags, permits, etc, cheaper to go to the "store" and "buy" a pink bleached chicken on steroids that will feed more people.

Water, one of our few last connections to mother earth, has been surrounded with factories and assembly lines, now you cannot drink without "$" you can't eat without $! I read somewhere that America generates over 1 billion pounds of FOOD WASTE A YEAR...all while people are still starving, children dying around the world.

Yet here we are talking this nonsense, getting excited, excitement creates distraction, distraction creates vulnerability...Talking about 4 years from now, the truth is we are not promised tomorrow. Ugh wake up.

This is why it's the pit, if you don't like it don't read it. You didn't have to click on this yet you did. That is your choice, no one else's. So congrats only person to blame is yourself, and since so many people get butt hurt over politics only one time every four years, like it really matters. People are going to make these types of threads, since they did not get their way they now have to cry about it

I've lived in countries where the government was as small as some stupid people fantasize but never experiment.

There's a reason why they say the fantasy's always better than the reality.

I'll cut whip_00 some slack. Most of us come here to escape reality, but emotions run high at the time of election, and sometimes you just can't help yourself when you care about the topic.

To the subject of not voting... in Australia, everyone votes. It is the law. It's an interesting way to make sure that the majority opinion wins. As a lowly permanent resident, I'm not allowed to vote, though.

I would like to say that I spent 10 months in southern Afghanistan and I have actually experienced what goes on over there and what the media puts out.

First off, it is wrong to put the blame on one single president.....although it is much easier to blame someone in the presence of the media then the others whom don't appear on the brainwash box all of the time lol.

I do not support our current president, when he said he was going to pull troops out of Afghanistan I was actually apart of the surge that was sent over there in the summer of 2010. Now don't get me wrong, not saying I was upset for having to go.....I am actually very glad I did because now I have a much different outlook on the world as a whole.

Set all of the conspiracies aside because that is how people get into big arguments and lose track of the current picture. The problem is not one man....the problem is a group of people who feel that the endless amount of frivolous spending is acceptable and deemed necessary to economic recovery......now that makes no sense, how do you justify printing more money and raising debt levels making progress?

Now I saw something mentioned about increased taxes......do you guys see how many taxes we are already paying? Does the word "obamacare" not ring a bell? Sure it grants people medical coverage BUT it's still a TAX, if obama said "I am going to increase taxes" everyone would be pissed off....however he slaps a medicare stamp on it and gets away with it. Now I don't have an issue with medicare being in place, what I have an issue with is say.....worker Joe gets 250.00 a month taken out of his check for HIS medical insurance, now Joe ALSO pays say 58.00 for medicare "obamacare" so essentially now you are paying 308.00 a month for the SAME COVERAGE YOU WERE GETTING BEFORE.

There needs to be a compromise, why are people being taxed for medicare and then being double tapped on their own medicare? That is not right.....

You are also paying an inflation tax whether you believe that or not.....the federal reserve (fiat money, remember history class?) prints this money out of thin air with no representation. Due to the increased spending of the government EVERY YEAR we find the dollar decreases a liiiiiitttttlllleeee bit more every time we print more money which makes everything a little more expensive. Thus creating an inflation tax......remember when a 20OZ soda would cost you 1.00 or 1.25 and now its 1.75 or almost 2.00? That's not because sprite jacked up the prices people.

Back to the war aspect, without us paying taxes military personnel wouldn't be getting paid. Now the government has spent WAAAAYYYY too much money on this whole "terrorism" garbage. I have been there in the middle of it, I had mortar rounds landing 30m away from my tent and felt the concussion from everyone of them. Let me tell you something.....if the troops over there are coming back and saying things against the war because of the orders passed down, the things they have seen and or experienced I highly suggest you take their word for it!

Last thing I will cover, I want you to take a look at the whole picture.....dig deep, real deep and you will find things you don't want to believe. Forget the economy and gay marriage, we have bigger issues to worry about.....has anyone seen the footage of U.N. troops IN AMERICA practicing martial law operations?

If that doesn't worry you....................I don't know what else to tell you!
