thats nice to see 3 Triumphs in the top 10, however it seems rather odd to have a 250cc and a 400cc in the top 10 as well.

I mean FFS a 1986 honda vfr400, yet no mention of the 500, 750, or 1000 the 3 models that sold WAaaaaaaaay more than the 400cc and were iconic bikes that changed the way mototrcycles were built back in the day. The vfr400 was priced right around the same price as the 750 and 1000 so it didnt sell well ever till being dropped, in addition it wasnt even available in many markets

that being in the top 100 and more importantly the top 10, makes me think somthing is terribly wrong with the list. I cant put any faith into this list after seeing the vfr400 in the top 10. I have an 1986 vf500f and v1000r and know quite alot about the history of the vfr and how it shaped the US motorcycle market....

i mean christ if it was the 1982-83 vf400f....i wouldnt have a problem with it at all being in there....but vfr400f..no way in HELL!!!

This is a UK magazine and a UK poll. They have a completely different group of bikes over there. My friend that went to the Isle of Man TT a few years back says there are a lot of 400s running around over there.

You boys are being nice and orderly. The Kawasaki ZX-10R Forum is spitting mad because the ZX was "only" 17th. They are furious about almost every listing. (Everyone wants their fave pet bikes to be #1) They were all PISSED that the Brits voted in their own bikes! (I also mentioned that the Japanese bikes far outsell Brit bikes in the UK.) Of course I pointed out that this IS a READER survey so if enough guys voted for a mini-bike it would be there. Anyway, you can't please everyone all the time, can ya?

Hmmm, the 250cc bike was the RGV250. A more legendary bike one would be hard pressed to find. Cheap. Plentiful. Ridden well it demolished pretty much every other bike on the market at the time.

The VFR400R is arguably deservedly there. Note that it is the R and not the F. That bike has long since been identified as having almost perfect balance and handling. I have a friend here who gets around on one, and it takes a very talented knob on a modern liter bike to stay near him in the hills.

A major omission for me from the top 10 would be the 1992 Fireblade, or the 1998 R1, or the 2000 GSXR1000. I mean those bikes each represented clear leaps in large capacity sports-bike design that made all else around them appear near obsolete dinosaurs (well, the Fireblade certainly did that).

Personally I think it is a dumb survey that has no meaning....

Shit the 916 isn't even on there....at all!!!
