: Lost one of our own. RIP Grib
AsphaltScraper 07-10-09, 17:05 Sadly a relatively new member to our 675 family, Grib (real name Lucie) passed away last Sunday whilst trying out her new Honda Fireblade.
I would like to offer my sincerest sympathies to her loved ones.
I never personally knew Lucy but was very impressed with her entrance to this forum when she first posted in May of this year, the track photos she shared showed her to be a very very skilled and competent rider and I am very sorry that she was taken from this World and those that loved her.
New girl checking in... - Triumph675.Net Forums
I saw mention of this very sad news in a race round up thread from Rat Race but was not sure about posting a separate thread regarding it out of respect, I since chose to post it for everyone to please spare some time to think about the sad passing of one of our own.
If those who actually knew Lucie or with a better insight as to who Lucie was as a person, as a rider and I believe a racer, if you would care to share some of your memories I think that might be nice to read. Thank you.
RIP Lucie.
This has been a very bad year:unhappy:

That's just awful. She was obviously a very skilled rider; makes you remember that it could happen to any of us, at any time.

Sad news.... Drive carefully everyone.
Very sad news. Condolences and prayers go out to her family and friends.
I talked with her the day before she died. Helped her with her bike at Cadwell Park as they were prepping it for Rattler to ride.
She was very nice and I wish now that I had spoken to her a bit more just to know a little more about her. It is very sad news and I hope the best for her family.
RIP Lucie ~
Sorry to hear about that

It's always terrible to lose a fellow rider. My thoughts go out to the family and friends.

couchcommando 07-11-09, 15:04 Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
This is so messed up. Truly awful news to hear. I will never get used to hearing about a fallen rider. Absolutely heart breaking.
Hopefully her family and friends can take away from it that she was doing what she loved, and not many of us get to leave here on those terms.
Rest in Peace.
Very sad to hear, RIP. My thoughts go to her family and friends.
we here in north houston ride in a pretty select group. there are men and women. my friend andrea toldme the other day she was thinking about selling the bike. she said to me " what about when it's my turn. what if i'm the next coach dave?" one of our est friends "coach dave" david patterson lost his life on fm 3090 on april 5th this year. i stood on the edge of the road and watched him die. my most sincere condolances. i dont know what i'd do if i lost a girl friend in this sport. i'm just sorry. when i saw my friend pass it changed the whole game. good luck couchcommando. actually cried a tear for grib.
What a tragic loss.R.I.P. Lucie. She seemed like such a neat young women from her post a very talanted rider.

Triumph Race Support 07-13-09, 16:08 RIP Grip, my thought's are with you Tony. You know where I am if you want to call and I will be at the reception.
I met her for the first time the day before she died. We all at breakfast together at the guest house before the Cadwell endurance race. My impression was that she was a warm and friendly person. I was also very impressed that she was lending her road going 675 to the race team that day as one of the race bikes had engine failure. Very, very cool I thought.
RIP Lucie.
warpedreality 07-13-09, 19:48 This is just very sad. RIP Lucie...
Hope you're holding up well Couchcommando..
Lucie was a wonderful, kind, generous soul, with never a bad word to say about anyone. She is one of life's goodies and will be very, very much missed.
I spent a great afternoon with Lucie at Cadwell watching the Endurance racing. I was due to race with CouchCommando (Tony) Lucie's fiancee, but engine probs on my bike and oil probs with his meant it was not to be. EVen though Lucie had leant me her road 675 to race !!! - like I said, very generous and kind.
Lucie's service is next week and it looks like there'll be 100+ friends there to remember her. Tony wants as many as possible to ride to the Church, and it looks like most will be riding too!! -it'll be awesome and a fitting tribute to a lovely lady. Tony will be riding one of Lucie's bike to the church too.
